Audi has been absent from the mid-size coupe segment for several years now whilst it has focussed on conquering the executive saloon and estate markets with its A4 and A6 models. But the German maker's model range has now sprouted once again so the A5 was a fairly predictable addition to the fold.
And it certainly doesn't disappoint. Potent powerplants combine with a nimble chassis to inspire great handling whilst maintaining Audi's usual refinement. Behind the wheel, the interior feels every bit as good as one expects from the Ingolstadt brand, although back seat passengers will definitely feel that they have drawn the short straw. Even the kids might find it a little claustrophobic.
Discounts are limited to start with, but will increase with time - and will come direct from Audi main dealers in the UK.
